Cruise Ship Tracker, Voyage Data

cruise ship tracker free

You can search via cruise line (i.e., Carnival Cruise Line or Holland America Line) to see where their vessels are currently at. However, all free ship trackers on the internet use land-based VHFs rather than satellite-based AIS to gather their ship data because it is less expensive, according to Cruisin. Since online trackers employ VHFs to track ships all over the world, you will not be able to receive data on a ship when it is sailing in the middle of the ocean.

Just mark your exact spot on the ship, take a selfie to identify yourself, and your order will be there shortly. Elizabeth graduated from New York University's Arthur L. Carter Journalism Institute with her M.A. Growing up, she had the privilege of traveling frequently with her family and fell in love with cruising after sailing on the Oasis of the Seas her freshman year of high school. She wanted to pursue a career that highlighted her passion for travel and strengths as a writer. While it's not the fanciest website, it certainly gets the job done without having to worry about all the other bells and whistles that other sites have. If, for instance, you do not care about the location of yachts or military vessels, you may find Cruising Earth's website to be overwhelming.

The best cruise apps to streamline your vacation at sea

cruise ship tracker free

ShipCruises will allow you to easily view where each cruise line's vessels are located. At the top of the screen, simply select which line you're interested in viewing. With these apps in your toolkit, you’re set for a seamless and enjoyable cruising adventure. CruiseMapper also gives you a glimpse into different ports by showing you where it's located on the map, schedules, weather and more. If you know the ship you want to track, enter the ship name or ship line name in the search box below. Cruisin provides the same live cruise data as Cruisemapper and can be a useful tool if you're well versed in all things nautical.

Cruise Ship Tracker / Live Cruise Ship Tracking Map - Cruising Earth

Marine Vessel's site looks dated compared to Cruise Hive's, but both still provide much of the same live data. Cruises offer a unique way to explore the world, and with the right app, you can elevate your experience from great to extraordinary.

Cruise Hive also tracks different kinds of ships in addition to standard passenger vessels, such as tug pilots, yachts, and navigational aids. Cruise trackers can be a fun way to learn more about a ship you see out at sea or look up where in the world your favorite cruise ship is sailing. However, you'll find the information you're looking for on any of the sites. For ports, CruiseMapper offers a rundown of the port's location, city, recent news and a list of tourist activities. CruiseMapper also allows you to track the number of ships currently in or near a specific port.

App Privacy

Rather than taking you directly to the map, it'll redirect you to an informational webpage that has a lot of hidden stats, including the reported destination and time of arrival. If you know the ship you want to track, enter the cruise ship name or cruise line name in the search box below. Cruisin offers much information on cruise lines and tracking them, but the site's dated interface can make it a little confusing to use, especially if you're using the site's trackers for the first time. Online cruise trackers are most reliable when a ship is closer to a shoreline or can receive AIS land-based reception. You can use a variety of cruise tracker websites — which follow ships of all sorts around the world — to help you identify a vessel. In the event of an emergency, AIS ship tracking can be used to quickly locate and contact a vessel in distress.

On CruiseMapper's homepage, you can select the cruise line you'd like to track, and then the website displays a map showing the routes of all the ships in that cruise line's fleet. Timely reminders for your reservations on the cruise make sure you don't miss a spa appointment or dinner reservation. The app also features an art guide to explore the onboard art collection and learn more about the many original paintings, sculptures and photographs throughout the fleet. The Royal Caribbean App helps save time navigating Royal Caribbean's large-scale ships. Check the daily schedule to find fun things to do, in-app deck plans to figure out how to get there and your onboard bill to make sure all the fun you're having isn't taking you over budget.

Cruising Earth will also allow you to view the ship traffic in any given port of call. You first, however, have to select a specific region, such as the Caribbean or European cruise regions. Unlike CruiseMapper, the different colors indicate the different types of vessels. All cruise ships, regardless of cruise line, are dark blue, while cargo ships are green and tankers are red. Online cruiser ship trackers work by using a combination of systems and technologies to retrieve information about ship locations.

Cruise Ship Tracker, Live Map Ship Tracking

Shore excursions can be re-scheduled if needed well before the day arrived if a delay due to weather or another incident occurred. AIS ship tracking provides real-time data for all types of passenger ships. This includes cruise ships, ferries, and other vessels that transport passengers from port to port. By using the AIS system, you can easily keep up with a passenger ship’s current location and speed as it travels around the world. AIS ship tracking is a great way to stay up-to-date on the location of marine vessels. Using the AIS system, you can track the progress of a ship as it travels from port to port.

This means that all cruise ships visiting the United States must have an AIS system installed and active at all times. This requirement ensures that all vessels are visible and traceable while in US waters, allowing for improved safety and security. The AIS ship tracking system provides an extra layer of security and safety for fleets. Not only can the system provide real-time data on the location of a vessel, but it also allows for quick response times to any potential emergencies that may arise. Cruise lines are able to use this data to better manage their fleets and respond quickly if necessary.

While the app and digital upload are not required to pass through customs, completing the steps on your app helps streamline your entry into the US. These systems send important information to the internet that keeps track of the ship, cruise line, speed, position, and route. Plus, they're useful if a ship needs to conduct search and rescue efforts and to help port authorities regulate marine traffic to mitigate the risk of any potential collisions. If you don't have a specific ship in mind, it's easy to browse the website.

From real-time location tracking to comprehensive itineraries, these apps are designed to keep you informed and connected throughout your cruise journey. In order to track a cruise ship on Cruising Earth, you first need to choose a cruise line from the 177 options offered. From there, a page displays an interactive map zoomed in on the live location of the ship you selected.

By using the system, search and rescue teams can quickly and accurately locate vessels in need of assistance. One feature it is lacking is creating different color icons for different cruise lines, like Cruise Mapper does. You're also able to view what ships are in various ports, as well as the deck plans of certain ships, such as Carnival Jubilee and Celebrity Ascent. Personally, CruiseMapper is the site that I always use since it appears first in the Google search when I type in a specific ship and "location" (i.e., "Allure of the Seas location"). I have never had any issues with it, and I find it to give accurate readings. Cruise Radio prioritizes well-balanced cruise news coverage and accurate reporting, paired with ship reviews and tips.

The arrows represent cruise ships that are currently en route, while the dots represent ships that are docked. Websites such as CruiseMapper, Marine Vessel, Cruising Earth and ShipCruises offer live ship location tracking, speed, position, itinerary information and even the weather conditions of the ship's route. Track a specific cruise ship live by searching for it by name below or by selecting it from the cruise line options below. Tracking a specific cruise ship will give you additional details like the ship's current location, recent track, speed, course, next port destination, estimated time of arrival (ETA) and more.

Cruise Hive's cruise ship tracker shows information about cruise ships and other vessels, such as cargo ships, tankers, yachts and tugboats. To see cruise ships, you can adjust the filter on the live interactive map to only show passenger cruise ships. On the map, you'll see icons that represent ships currently en route and ships that are docked at ports. When you click on each icon, you can view more details about the ship, including its speed, how long it spent traveling, itinerary information and weather.

Carnival Eastern Caribbean Cruise Reviews 2024 UPDATED: Ratings of Carnival Cruises to Eastern Caribbean

7 day eastern caribbean cruise carnival

We ventured over to The Brass Magnolia lounge for a Sazerac night cap as one does when they are in New Orleans, or on a ship with a New Orleans motif. The live band, Washboard Joe, was really enjoyable during their Beatles set, but just like the previous venue, it was nearly impossible to hold a conversation. Our party preferred the drinks here over the Fortune Teller drink menu. For any cruises listed, Cruise Critic does not guarantee any specific rates or prices.

Primary menu

There were multiple omelet stations with the cooks taking guests orders and doing one heck of a job moving the line while creating a quality breakfast item. So far, the food has been impressive, and it’s just the start of day 2. Furthermore, Cruise Critic makes no guarantees for availability of prices advertised on our site.

Departure Dates: May 2024 - Apr 2026

Passengers of all ages were dressed for the evening. Next to the pizza area, was Piazza Panini with more than a dozen sandwich options pre-made, but heated or pressed when ordered if desired. We came across Lime, Chocolate, and Strawberry offered at various venues onboard. The first full day onboard is underway sailing south-east passing The Bahamas as we make way for San Juan in a couple days.

Day Exotic Eastern Caribbean Cruise sailing on the Carnival Pride

7 day eastern caribbean cruise carnival

Carnival Pride charms, alright — it's a treat for your eyes, your taste buds... Invite them all to come enjoy the vacation that this ship is proud to offer. It was time to call it a night to prepare for our second consecutive day at sea.

In addition, average cruise prices are updated nightly. Our group settled in a booth across from the Fortune Teller bar for after dinner drinks. This bar has a menu with a number of Instagramable cocktails as some were served with the bartender shining a light on them to bring out characteristics such as glitter or color changing effects.

Over on the Lido Deck across from the pool, is a cute little doghouse with towel dogs. This spot is where you can exchange your pool towels or buy some additional items such a blanket. Unfortunately, the towel folding book was sold out during our sailing.

Emily started her typical gym-going routine, and then we all met for with breakfast. Isabelle and I got chicken biscuit sandwiches from Big Chicken’s breakfast menu and Emily and I had made-to-order omelet from the Lido Marketplace, the buffet located on Deck 16. View our photo gallery of Eastern Caribbean cruising photos from Carnival Cruise Lines. Best of all, this is merely a sample of the sights waiting for you on a Carnival Cruise Lines Eastern Caribbean cruise vacation.

Alongside the pool is the big-screen, big-fun Carnival Seaside Theater™, while Seuss at Sea™ is a good time for kids who love a good rhyme too. (Like we do!) Camp Ocean®, Circle "C"® and Club O2® prove that we've got spots for cool kids of all ages. In all, there are 5 standard pizzas on the menu, Margherita, Funghi, Pepperoni, Quattro Formaggi, and Prosciutto.

Cruise Critic is not a booking agent and does not charge any service fees to users of our site. Rates are in USD and valid for US and Canadian residents only. When you book with one of our partners, please be sure to check their site for a full disclosure of all applicable fees as required by the U.S. This is one ship that’s ready to put its fun where your vacation is, with plenty of ways to enjoy your time away. Did a little post dinner walking around the ship since we really hadn’t spent all that much time exploring all of the venues.

Carnival reserves the right to re-instate the fuel supplement for all guests at up to $9 per person per day if the NYMEX oil price exceeds $70 per barrel. We walked over to the JavaBlue CafĂ©, and discovered an assortment of both included and additional cost items like this strawberry donut that looked appetizing (which I regret not getting!). This was a popular location for passengers with drink plans that included specialty coffees. I guess our room included the Bubbles Package for soda, but we do not drink soda, so we stuck with the included water, iced tea, and coffee. The coffee was actually quite good – the machines were a grind and brew on demand and I eventually found 1 machine that would make espresso.

Top 5 Viking River Cruises in Europe

best viking river cruise

None of its main competitors among river lines catering to North Americans, which include Avalon Waterways, Uniworld and AmaWaterways, have anywhere near that number of vessels. Whether you use a travel agent or not, make sure to maximize your credit card spending when paying for the cruise by using a credit card that offers extra points for travel purchases. This could be the Chase Sapphire Reserve, which offers 3 Ultimate Rewards points per dollar on travel and dining (excluding the annual $300 travel credit). There's also the Chase Sapphire Preferred Card, which offers 2 Ultimate Rewards points per dollar on travel (and 3 Ultimate Rewards points per dollar on dining). If you're sure that Viking is your line, look for a travel agent who specializes in trips with the brand.

Are river cruise cabins small?

On all ships, smoking (including electronic cigarettes) is only allowed in designated outdoor areas. Unlike many lines, Viking allows you to bring your own wine, Champagne, beer and liquor onto ships at embarkation with no limits. Viking adds an automatic service gratuity (which it calls a "hotel and dining charge") of $17 per person per day to final bills, depending on your cabin category.

Best Sights to See on the Viking Grand European Tour River Cruise

Viking river cruise ship layouts center on the glass-enclosed Aquavit Terrace. Part dining area, part sunny hangout, the Aquavit Terrace sits at the front of the ship and provides a perfect vantage point for scenic sailing. Among ocean cruise destinations, Viking has a major presence in Scandinavia and Northern Europe, which it considers its home turf. (The company was founded by a Norwegian family.) However, you'll find Viking's nine traditional ocean ships everywhere from North America to Asia and Australia. There are 80 river ships in Viking's fleet — an astounding number.

Can solo travelers take a river cruise?

My husband prefers to jog each morning, and he was able to when we were docked in the early morning before excursions began. A good idea if you’re a runner is to check with the reception desk to map out when there will be time in the morning to leave the ship for a jog or run before excursions begin. The Silver Spirits package is complimentary for guests in an Explorer Suite. There are some exceptions to this in Viking's fleet, primarily on Portugal's Douro River, Germany's Elbe River and the Seine River in France. On those rivers, Viking uses smaller ships to navigate locks and have access to buzzing city centers, like Paris.

Uniworld Boutique River Cruises

At 47,800 tons, these ocean ships are less than a fourth the size of the giant megaships being built by the likes of Royal Caribbean and MSC Cruises, in keeping with Viking's focus on intimate, upscale voyages. Viking's Danube River cruises sail between the grand Hungarian capital Budapest, a city divided in half by the river itself, and Passau in Germany. You'll visit the postcard-perfect landscapes of the UNESCO-listed Wachau Valley as well as magnificent Vienna. There, you're likely to hear that famous Strauss waltz played at one of Viking's visits to an atmospheric music hall.

Is everything free on Viking River cruises?

We’ve had the pleasure of sailing with Viking Cruises, and if you’re looking for a little insider information, we can help. Uniworld stands out immediately for its impressively designed interiors; each ship is themed to the areas that ships sail through. BonVoyage in France, the Le Salon Champagne was inspired by Yves Saint Laurent's home, Villa Majorelle.

Excursions on a Viking River Cruise

Passengers on Viking River Cruises are generally English-speaking, well-traveled cruise veterans in the 55-plus bracket, although China and Southeast Asia attracts some younger travelers (think 40-plus). Stay current with special offers, news and destination-focused content. Coffee stations and some snacks are usually available during the day. Room service is limited -- it's breakfast only and only available to passengers in the Explorer Suites. Viking Octantis, notably, also operated Viking's first sailings around the Great Lakes this year. In 2023, both Viking Octantis and Viking Polaris will spend their summers in the Great Lakes.

The entry-level cabin, the Petit Suite, is about 188 square feet is larger than most standard rooms, while the Deluxe Suite has French balconies, and opulent Explorer Suites boast large windows. All are butler-serviced river ships with a high, almost one-to-one staff-to-guest ratio. Solo travelers will appreciate that there are dedicated Solo Traveler Suites with no surcharge for a non-double occupancy booking, which is unheard of with cruising. River cruises are very popular choices for people who like traveling to new places in the comfort of a floating hotel. That is, you sleep and eat on the ship and are transported to your destinations along a river.

Find out what made this castle so intriguing in this story, Marksburg Castle with Viking River Cruises. Choosing a Viking River Cruise from their enticing selection of itineraries is like asking a child in a chocolate factory to pick just one sweet from an overwhelming array of tempting treats. After much deliberation, my husband and I selected the Rhine Getaway, an eight-day cruise on the Rhine River. Review my round-up of all the Viking River Rhine Cruise destinations below. To avoid unnecessary stress from flight delays or cancellations plan to arrive at least one day before your cruise departs.

A secondary pool area with an infinity pool is at the back of each of the ships. What they are is eminently functional, with storage in all the right places, lots of outlets for charging your devices and lighting right where you need it. We love the reading lights built into the fabric headboards, which are in addition to the lamps on bedside tables. You won't have trouble seeing the pages of the Viking Daily activity newsletter while lying in a Viking cabin bed. Bathrooms in Viking cabins are serene, modernist escapes with luxurious travertine-lined walls, Scandinavian-influenced wood-veneered vanities, shiny white sinks and chrome fixtures.

Many of the staterooms have balconies that offer panoramic views and fresh air. Their twin-balcony staterooms feature both a French balcony and an outside balcony. While the suites are about 350 square feet, the standard stateroom is about 170 square feet with fixed windows at the waterline.

Itineraries include the Garonne, Girande and Dordogne Rivers, all of which wind their way through rolling hills home to more than 9,000 wineries. Those produce about 700 million bottles of wine a year, so expect sips of Saint-Emilion, Medoc and Sauternes on a Viking Bordeaux river cruise. If you're looking for the best Viking River Cruises in Europe, you have a lot to consider. Viking's itineraries on Europe's most famous rivers -- like the Rhine, Danube and Seine -- are some of the best river cruise options in Europe for almost every kind of traveler. Odds are you will not get motion sickness on a river cruise since large waves or currents do not hit the ships. For example, European river cruises run from March through December.

All of that makes the Viking's Rhine cruises a great choice for first-time European river cruisers and returning visitors alike. Top-ranked Viking does all the major riverways of Europe, with ships also on the Nile and the Mekong, and, new in 2022, on the Mississippi. Readers praised the line's value proposition and shore experiences that go beyond the norm.
